Nantwich Shoemakers

This 38 page booklet, by Andrew Lamberton and Glynn Skerratt, shows how shoemaking developed in Nantwich from a home based industry to a factory based one. Rich illustrations show photographs of the premises where shoes were made, and old maps showing the location of the different factories. The booklet also covers clog making in the town, and the decline of shoe making.  The final chapter covers shoe retailers in Nantwich in the last century. It is illustrated with adverts from the time and old photos of various premises in the town.
