Chester in the English Civil War

Whilst much has been written about Chester in Roman times, surprisingly little has been written about the town during the English Civil War. This 57 page digital download, written for Nantwich Museum by Charles Esdaile, helps to put that right. The timeline leading up to the war and how Chester became besieged in 1645-46 is described.
