Become a Young Trustee at Nantwich Museum

Would you like to be involved in influencing the future of a busy and dynamic museum in Nantwich?

Nantwich Museum has recently experienced an exciting period of change, especially in the areas of exhibition and display work, in developing our communications strategy and in audience engagement. The Museum is now looking to diversify its Board of Trustees by recruiting two people aged between 18 – 30 to join the Board in order to continue and expand this development.

The Board of Trustees is responsible for the control and administration of the museum and for ensuring the museum meets its financial and legal obligations. It plans and designs strategy for making the museum an interesting, exciting and relevant place for both the local community and visitors to the town.

The Board is seeking enthusiastic, interested individuals who are passionate about the role museums fulfil in helping to create community cohesion through a sense of place and belonging. You will be a good communicator,  able to work effectively with board members, bringing new perspectives, contributing ideas and helping to develop the Museum’s vision as it moves forward.

The museum will create opportunities for the successful candidates to gain valuable knowledge and experience in how Boards of Trustees operate. A mentoring programme will ensure that new trustees feel confident to contribute and engage fully in the work of the Board.

If this role appeals to you please contact Kate by Friday 4th October. Email education@nantwichmuseum.org.uk or phone 01270 627104 to express your interest. We’ll get back to you by 11th October to arrange a convenient to meet and discuss further.
