Nantwich Museum has had a very hectic summer. It has welcomed a large number of visitors to participate in family workshops including printing, enamelling, model-making and jewellery-making.
The Museum has enjoyed running its summer exhibition ‘Our High Street’ which tells the story of Nantwich High Street over the years. This free exhibition continues until 21 September 2024. Supporting the exhibition are special guided walks, along with a wide range of booklets which can be purchased in the Museum shop.
Heritage Open Days will also be celebrated at Nantwich Museum in September. A free pottery drop-in workshop for all ages will run on 7 September 2024 between 11am and 3pm.
The Museum will start hosting shared reading get-togethers from 9 September 2024. Running weekly at 2pm, this group aims to bring people together to talk, laugh and share.
The talk on ‘Baddiley; an ancient parish’ and ‘Helen Macfarlane: from revolutionary to vicar’s wife’ proved so popular that it will be run again on 25 September at 7pm. Tickets are £7.50 (£6 Museum Members) and include light refreshments.
The Museum is also looking forward to the ‘Ten Plus Textiles’ exhibition which commences on 25 September 2024. This will feature the work of a group founded in 1991, of 13 artists who work with fibres and fabric to promote a greater appreciation of contemporary textile art. Most of the work will be available to purchase.
