Webinar: The Worleston Dairy Institute – Wednesday 26 May, 2pm

At 2pm on Wednesday 26 May 2021, Bill Pearson will deliver an online talk (using Zoom) about the Worleston Dairy Institute.

In the year that Reaseheath College celebrates its 100th anniversary, this talk goes back to the early 1880s to celebrate the people, and organisations, that started it all off. This is the remarkable, and largely untold, story of how a Cheshire farmer (who lost his father at an early age) got together with a Manchester dairyman and created the UK’s first ever Dairy School – shaping Agricultural Education for many years, not just in the UK but across the world.

The Worleston Dairy Institute was so important, that even the George V, and Queen Mary paid a visit.

If you wish to attend, you will need to purchase your place at least one hour before the talk – and joining details will be sent via email.
