Nantwich Volunteer Fire Brigade

This booklet, by Andrew Lamberton and Judy St Pourcain, provides an important insight into one of the lesser recorded aspects of the town’s history. It covers fire fighting in the town from Roman times onwards and shows how fire fighting has changed over the years. Several major incidents are described. There are fascinating old pictures of some of the men who were in the brigade, includng Harry Johnson – who spent 60 years in the fire service, and received the King’s Police and Fire Services medal.
