Nantwich Gates

At one time Nantwich was surrounded by gates. These were the tollgates of the turnpike trusts and the manual railway crossing gates.

The tollgates have gone and the crossings gates are now replaced with automatic barriers.

There were other gates in town one as an access to the churchyard and others on to the Barony – also now gone.
