Connected Threads

Connected Threads, the South Cheshire branch of the Embroiderers’ Guild, has created an online exhibition which can be viewed here.

Members were invited to make hearts of friendship during the current pandemic restrictions as they were unable to meet as a group and wanted to keep connected by all working on the same project. The intention is to join the hearts together as part of a larger exhibition planned for the Millennium Gallery at the Museum, when restrictions are eventually lifted.

The branch has monthly meetings with a speaker and organises regular workshops. Many of the members are nonprofessional textile artists who enjoy creating artwork using a variety of techniques based in stitch. Some of the work is traditional, but other experimental involving working with paint, paper, metal, found objects and recycled ephemera. The members are united in a passion for stitched textile art and the joy of sharing ideas, encouraging creativity and building friendships through stitch. The meetings are open to anyone with an interest in textile art, with further information available from Trisha James trishajames18@gmail.com.
