The Museum is hosting a public event for local history enthusiast Howard Smith at 5pm on Wednesday 5th December 2018. The event is to gauge public interest in local oral history, and we’re looking for people who are willing to conduct and record the interviews, people who would like to help construct the questions, others who would be willing to help transcribe and create a database of the interviews, and those who may wish to be interviewed themselves or know someone who would like to be interviewed. Anyone is free to volunteer to help make these interviews happen but we are hoping to find people that are 65+ to be interviewees. Please come along if you wish to be part of the project.
A Dabber Childhood
“A few weeks back I asked if anyone was interested in starting an oral history project as a way of recording some of those marvellous memories of our childhood in Nantwich. The response has been really encouraging. All you need to be interviewed is to be over 65 and to have spent some of your childhood in Nantwich. If you are unable to get to the meeting but would like to be involved please let me know. If all goes well we can begin to interview people early next year. This is our history, let’s not lose it.” – Howard Smith
